Binding information:

Bound in blind-tooled calf over wooden boards with a single fore-edge clasp; outer frame of roll and fillets enclosing a central diaper framework, the lozenges filled with small tooled ornaments including "WG" monograms, roses and fleurs-de-lis. The binding was made by the binders "W.G" or "I.G." in Cambridge probably at the end of the 15th century according to the monogram stamp (Oldham, English Blind-Stamped Bindings, pl. X, no 20; Nigel F. Palmer, p. 67). rebacked and lettered in gilt in spine with rasied bands; a rectangular label on the rear pastedown indicates the date of the restoration work: "Bookbinding Restoration, C. E. Smart, Catford SE6, Nov 1953".
