Description:
Daily entries by Pritchard, who was from Margate (where his wife and children resided) but based at a boys home at 9 Clapham Road, Kennington. The volume records his observations of boys soliciting at Victoria, Ebury Bridge, Eaton Square, Sloane Square, Hyde Park, Kennington, Charing Cross, Clapham Common, Paddington, Oxford Street, Edgeware Road and Liverpool Street and London Bridge railway stations. Also records his work at the Home, the frequency with which he bestowed advice on the boys encountered on the street, attendance at auction rooms and police courts, and his efforts to find alternative employment for the boys.
